Weekend Growth

Three day weekends are always enjoyable. Over the long weekend I learned that making yourself happy is more important than trying to make others happy while you remain miserable. In the dictionary, happiness is defined as the quality or state of being in good fortune, pleasure, contentment, and or joy.I believe happiness is the key to enjoying life and everything in it. I used to think that making others happy was important because you do not want to see the ones you love unhappy. After doing so for such a long time I finally came to the conclusion that I need to worry about myself and my life and focus on staying happy and content. After making oneself happy, he or she can then go on to help their friends or family become happy and enjoy life.

  1. I hear you. It all comes down to choice and making the decision to be happy or unhappy. I agree with you that unless we are securely grounded in our own happiness and sense of contentment, it is really hard to make others happy!

  2. It's often difficult to remember that other people are not the source of our own happiness.
